These fasteners are typically used by treehouse builders when the loads are very light and a large wound in the tree (such as is made for a larger treehouse bolt) is not necessary.
The predrill hole size is either 1" or 1.125", depending on hardness of the tree species and actual size of bolt which is not always exactly 1.25"

1.25" Diameter shaft. They vary slightly. 8" Total Length 3-4" of coarse threading Galvanized Tensile: 70,500 PSI Yield: 48,600 PSI Typically Pre-drilled with a 1-1/8" auger bit in hardwood and a 1" auger bit in very soft woods. Installed best using 1-7/8" socket and 3/4" ratchet handle.
